Tesla Cars Will Soon Babysit You While You Sleep

Did you know that we recently conducted a Tesla contest (yes, TESLA the really expensive car) with BIG money in prizes?

Yep, we did…and for real money and lots of it.

We do funky things like this every so often (in addition to our many truly charitable contributions and the various philanthropic causes our Regency Founder is invested in).

Read about our Tesla Giveaway here.

You see, Regency is all about being innovative in all things Healthcare.

We set the standards for others to (attempt to) follow.

Same with Tesla, ……….so it was a natural partnership.

In any event, this week Tesla unveiled a new autopilot feature for its Model S that basically does everything for you…

Kind of freaky and nerve wracking though, if you ask me..

(good thing I don’t drive a Tesla, though I know somebody who does)

Read more about the system here.

New Home At Regency Park For 5 Star Rated and Deficiency Free-2!

I’m excited to share good tidings with you, my beloved audience.

Our famous Betta fish, Deficiency Free-2 and 5 Star Rated, have both found new homes at Regency Park!

For those of you who don’t know who they are and how they were named, this blog post from 2014 is a must read.

(btw, I’ve long struggled with the ‘Fish vs. Fishes’ conundrum for grammatically proper application.

I’ve discovered that the plural of fish is usually fish, but fishes has a few uses. In biology, for instance, fishes is used to refer to multiple species of fish. For example, if you say you saw four fish when scuba diving, that means you saw four individual fish, but if you say you saw four fishes, we might infer that you saw an undetermined number of fish of four different species.

Fishes, with an apostrophe, also serves as the plural possessive of fish—for example, the fishes’ scales were yellow. And of course fishes is the present-progressive verb (e.g., she fishes in the river).

Fishes also appears in the cinematic gangster idiom sleep with the fishes, used to indicate that someone has been whacked – and perhaps given a water burial.

I digress good naturedly, btw, but I’m certain that’s apparent).

That’s right!

Deficiency Free-2 is now swimming delightedly in his brand new 12 gallon habitat in my office (my own personal purchase, donated for the benefit of our enthusiastic visitors!), while 5 Star rated is enjoying his new rock-star status from his elevated perch in our beautiful lobby!

Of course, we already have a beautiful aquarium in the lobby!

Take a look below (the ‘old-timer’ fish are not jealous btw and are more than happy to share the spotlight. There’s plenty of room in the lobby for everyone).

Why Fix It If It “Aint Broke?”

Well, it’s official.

Google officially unveiled its new logo today.

The new  a new sans-serif and slightly toned-down four-color logo on Tuesday in the biggest redesign since 1999.

Google pings me with periodic updates.

They know I love Regency Park, so they send me Regency Park data.

I can’t say I’m in love with the photos I just got. I think I do a better job as an amateur photographer, than they do from the sky and via their “Google cars.”

So here are the two offerings from Google and you decide.

Google Car Hanging Around Regency!

I spotted the car a few days ago and took the first picture.

Then Marty Bengio (Administrator at Regency Heritage in Somerset, NJ) spotted the car again (same car?) today and sent me the second photo.

I guess if you complete a multi million dollar renovation on your already gorgeous facility, Google will send a company car to capture streaming photos for posterity!

Hey, Google also captured the panoramic photo of the entrance to Regency Heritage below, which I have used before.

Donald Trump Borrows From Regency Nursing

I should preface by saying that this is not a political endorsement of any kind.

Regency is, and will always be about caring for patients, not running for elected office, or promoting those who do.

Rather, my supposition is based upon an entirely different observation.

It is also an entirely personal and subjective observation, without any first hand knowledge, empirical data or confirmation from the subject(s) to support.

For those of you who are following current politics, you will recall that recently, just hours after South Carolina Sen. Lindsey Graham called Donald Trump a “jackass,” Trump retaliated by reading Lindsey Graham’s cell phone number into the microphone during a speech in South Carolina.

“[Graham] said, ‘Can you mention my name?’ I say, ‘Yes I will.’ And he gave me his number,” Trump said. “And I found the card. I wrote the number down. I don’t know if it’s the right number. Let’s try it.”

Trump then read the number — which a representative from Graham’s Senate office confirmed to ABC News is Graham’s cell phone.

It was an awesome and creative display from Trump (I thought).

Well, it didn’t take long for the Liberal website, Gawker, to retaliate by posting this message on 8/3/2015:

“Last month, American reality show entertainer turned American political system entertainer Donald Trump publicized presidential rival Sen. Lindsey Graham’s cell number, urging his supporters to “try it.” In the spirit of open and fair political debate, we now bring you Trump’s number.”

They then proceeded to publicize one of Trump’s cellphone numbers and included this photo below:

So how did “The Donald” respond?

Here is how:

He completely turned the tables on Gawker and changed his voicemail this morning (and his exploit is now all the rage on all of the news networks and media outlets)!

Call his cellphone number above and this is the message you’ll get:

“Hi, this is Donald Trump and I’m running for the presidency of the United States of America,” he says on the recording. “With your help and support, together we can make America truly great again! Visit me at twitter @realDonaldTrump and check out my campaign website at http://www.donaldtrump.com Hope to see you on the campaign trail, we’re going to do it!”

When I heard what Trump pulled off here, by ingeniously and creatively capitalizing on a difficult situation and turning it instead into a unique opportunity which others would have overlooked (or worse, been swallowed by), I immediately thought of Regency Founder, Mr. David Gross.

Such creative thinking is right out of his playbook.

For those of you who know the man, you know I exaggerate not one, single, iota.

My First Official “Stamping Ceremony!”

I officially helped our first Resident with my newly minted Notary Public services.

I was so excited to use my shiny new ($40 staples special) ink stamp!

I felt like a kid in a candy shop.

Now I’m real, real important (I told my Wife all about it).

Seriously, though, our lovely resident, Maureen, had a very important document she need to sign in front of a Notary.

But for my help, she would have travelled a distance outside the facility in search of a Notary Public.

Instead, I was happy to oblige right here in the comfort of her own home at Regency Park!!

It’s the Regency way. We love our residents.

Hey, I was so excited, I took a picture of the stamp, and standing together with Maureen and her cousin!!

(we all have our idiosyncrasies, I just happen to blog mine..!)

Take a look at the photos below:
