The members of Faith Fellowship donate their time the second Sunday of each month to entertain our residents. This past Sunday Darlene and her group sang Christmas carols. Darlene’s nephew brought the audience to tears with his beautiful voice.
So we hosted a ‘Wine and Cheese’ party last night at Regency Park to introduce our new Administrator to our families.
Where I come from, I’ve got more of a personal affinity towards coffee and cake, but I guess wine and cheese is more Avant-garde so I was certainly game.
Turned out to be a beautiful and classy affair and I actually learned a few things too!
Did you know that a real wine aficionado never holds a glass of wine anywhere other than by the stem?
That’s right. Heaven forbid anyone to show their amateurish lack of sophistication by gripping a glass of wine like you would a cup of soda! You wouldn’t want to unduly influence the required temperature of the wine with the warmth of your fingers around the glass.
After all, the succulent aroma of the wine, coupled with the “hint of berries and birchwood (who the heck puts together these wood with wine references anyway; a lumberjack?!), along with the strong smooth finish” would be irrevocably altered by doing a dastardly thing such as this!
I learned the hard way last night.
In any event, now that I’ve become a true wine connoisseur, my life is much better! Lol!
Take a look at some pictures from last night’s event!

Regency Grande is buzzing with excitement in anticipation of their soon to be installed state of the art generator!
Post Hurricane Sandy, Mr. Gross envisioned a uniquely safe and securely housed generator to power the entire building in the event that there would be another storm of this magnitude.
He devised a creative plan of action and it is being executed this week in the parking lot of the Regency Grande Postacute facility in Dover.
Take a look at a few pictures!

The other day, I paid a visit to the Madison Center – Genesis Healthcare, skilled nursing and rehab facility, located on Sate Highway 34 in Matawan, NJ.
Their Director of Social Services is a previous colleague of mind and I wanted to pay her a visit (unfortunately, she was already gone for the day).
Regency Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is the best option for families in Matawan who are in need of an unequalled, stellar sub acute rehabilitation program to recover from a recent hospitalization in one of the nearby hospitals (Bayshore Community Hospital is located a few minutes from Regency Nursing Centers in Hazlet).

I visited Monmouth Medical Center this week to look after a patient. Monmouth Medical Center is located in Long Branch, New Jersey and services the surrounding area.
A friend of mine works in the nearby Monmouth Care Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation and tells me that the community is very receptive to this hospital because of their exceptional staff of doctors and surgeons.
Our Regency Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center is located about a 20 minute drive from the Long Branch, Deal and Neptune communities in New Jersey and we continue to be an excellent option for families in these areas who are looking for a stellar rehabilitation and nursing program for a loved one.
We are located right off exit 117 on the Garden State Parkway and routinely accept discharges from Monmouth Medical Center to our facility for post acute care and rehabilitation.

In a June 14, 2013 statement before the Committee on Ways and Means – Subcommittee on Health, – Jonathan Blum, Director, Center for Medicare Management, had this to say:
“Post-acute care is the skilled nursing care and therapy typically furnished after an inpatient hospital stay. It is provided in a variety of settings, including skilled nursing facilities (SNFs), inpatient rehabilitation facilities (IRFs), long-term care hospitals (LTCHs), and in patients’ homes by home health agencies (HHAs). Often provided with the goal of shortening a patient’s hospital stay, post-acute care is just one component of a broad care delivery continuum. Unfortunately, care across that continuum can be fragmented, as patients may pass through the care of multiple providers, and the providers may not consistently and accurately communicate information on the course of treatment with all those involved in the patient’s care. Additionally, providers face financial incentives that are not always well-aligned with the cost and the quality of patient care. Health care often is not delivered in the most efficient, clinically appropriate, and cost-effective care setting. Post-acute care, in particular, is often delivered in more intensive care settings where Medicare payments are higher, when effective and appropriate care can be delivered in a lower-intensity setting. Better management of post-acute care will be a key component to any successful effort to reform and improve the Medicare program.”
Regency Nursing Centers across New Jersey, have embraced the post acute care requirements, with a series of deliverables designed to provide a robust level of therapy and stringent nursing protocol at each of their facilities.
This transitional care model allows their patients to move smoothly from the acute hospital stay, to the Regency post-acute and sub-acute specialty care programsfor maximum rehabilitation in a shortened period of time.
Nowhere is this more evident than at the Regency Gardens Post Acute Rehab Program. Regency Gardens is located on Hamburg Turnpike in Wayne, NJ and is a singular provider of post-acute rehabilitation in the area. There are other facilities in the area, like the Kindred LTAC and Preakness Nursing facilities. However, the type of post-acute care that has become the Regency Nursing trademark, is truly one-of-a kind.
Regency Nursing Centers has carved a niche post acute rehab program with an emphasis on providing targeted care to patients who are at greater risk for re-hospitalization due to certain clinical diagnosis.
While post acute rehab is typically synonymous with a rigorous and demanding therapy regimen, at Regency Gardens in Wayne NJ, they manage to bridge this element together with an unrivaled oasis of picturesque beauty and comfort!
You will not only rehab in earnest, but also in style and serenity!
Their Post Acute Center in Wayne, NJ is set on a sprawling complex of picturesque gardens, waterfalls and pathways. When you aren’t occupied with their world class therapy, you may rest in comfort in one of their custom furnished rooms, or dine with class in one of several elegant dining areas.
If you are contemplating post acute care for a loved one, in the Wayne or Paterson NJ areas, you owe it to yourself to pay a visit to Regency Gardens.
Tell Mom or Dad that you are visiting the ‘Botanical Gardens’ in the area, which also happens to offer the best Post Acute Therapy program in New Jersey!

The other day, I paid a visit to the Care one Nursing and Rehabilitation center in Holmdel NJ.
I arrived in the evening and met with the Admissions Director, Mr. Frank Angiulo. The two of us have collaborated in the past on transferring patients and it was nice to chat with Frank at the end of a business day.
Meghan, who is part of the Admissions team, took me around the facility to point out some of their recent improvements and programs.
We compared notes and the visit was altogether a pleasant one.
Take alook at a few pictures I captured with my trusty Blackberry.

Riverview is a beautiful hospital located in what is considered an affluent area. We have an excellent relationship with Riverview Hospital and we accept many of their subacute patients to our beautiful facility, Regency Park Nursing and Rehabilitation, in Hazlet NJ.
I captured this photograph yesterday while standing in the lobby of the hospital. This room overlooks the bay and the panorama is exceptionally beautiful and therapeutic.
