Successful Rehabilitation at Regency Nursing Centers, NJ

At Regency Nursing Centers in NJ, we collect stories of human triumphs each and every day. In fact, we play a significant role in facilitating such displays of human perseverance and the indomitable human spirit!

Our elderly folks come to us and they thrive. Whether they are here for short term post-acute rehabilitation, or to live with us, we help them ensure that they not be defined by their illness.

The fact is, human beings posses a tremendous capacity to persevere in the face of seemingly insurmountable odds. Our blessing lies in our willpower. The will to succeed cannot be vanquished by our frailties and limitations.

I see this everyday in our nursing homes. I see people who have the iron will to get better, stronger and healthier and to live out their golden years to the fullest and on their own terms.

Since we are just over the Superbowl, let me share with you the famous quote from the great Vince Lombardi. He said “The difference between a successful person and others is not a lack of strength, not a lack of knowledge, but rather a lack in will.”

I was reminded of all of this when I stumbled across this unfathomable story making the news this week, of the Mexican shark fisherman who spent 13 months adrift in the Pacific Ocean and survived by drinking turtle blood!

Just incredible!

Hey, I ran 20 miles outdoors this weekend in the balmy weather. Not as impressive as the fisherman, but I’m not much of a seafaring chap to begin with!

Have a great day and for those of you who are dealing with the effects of “global warming” today, please stay warm and safe!

If you have a loved one at any of our Regency facilities, know that they are safe, warm, comfortable and happy!
