Good morning.
It is a glorious day today!
When I arrived at Regency Park, I parked near my favorite tree and fed Deficiency Free as my first order of business.
Next, I bumped into our beloved resident, Dolores and we took this photo together!

Regency Park sits in close proximity to the Jersey shore and I could literally smell the beach from here.

Our outdoor park is absolutely gorgeous and I’m certain our residents will appreciate the fresh air during our many outdoor events taking place in the coming weeks.

It seems like eons ago that I was a young, obese teenager with nary a care in the world. I was enrolled in a college overseas and would spend months at a time pursuing my studies. For ‘fun,’ I’d travel to the Capital City of Moldova (formerly part of the U.S.S.R.) where several of us ran a school and a camp for underprivileged kids. We would spend many weeks in Kishinev, teaching and growing together.
From there, we would travel by dilapidated trains for many hours across Ukraine and Belarus meeting families and doing outreach.
Then, Life and its vicissitudes happened…
I got married, settled down and started raising our family.
So this week, my Wife turns to me and inquires about taking off for a day or so sometime this summer in order to “get away” with the kids.
I’ve since learned that the etymological and lexical definition for the term ‘getting away with the kids,’ is simply a pretense for going somewhere really nice with beautiful scenery where we could prop up the kids in front of flowers and shrubbery and snap photos for posterity.
This being the case, I had a fantastic idea. I offered up a trip to the magnificent Regency Gardens Nursing Center in Wayne, NJ!
Anyone who has ever been there knows that the place is a scenic oasis of beauty and tranquility.
In fact, photographers vie to rent time during the summer months in order to photograph their married couples on the sprawling grounds of manicured lawns, gazebos and waterfalls.
We could certainly ‘get away with the kids’ with a trip to Regency Gardens! There, we’d be able to capture beautiful photographs beyond anything the scenery in Cape Cod or Rhode Island has to offer!

That’s when I found out that my presumptive understanding of her specific reference to ‘getting away with the kids’ was misguided and ill conceived.
Oh well, it was worth a shot.
Have a great day!
