On March 21, 2013 the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid (CMS) held an “open door forum call,” where they informed SNF’s (Skilled Nursing Facilities) that the anticipated regulations for nursing home ethics and compliance programs (resultant from ObamaCare) have not yet been put in place.
The Patient Protection & Affordable Care Act (PPACA, or “ObamaCare”) is primarily aimed at decreasing the number of uninsured Americans and reducing the overall costs of health care. It provides a number of mechanisms—including mandates, subsidies, and tax credits—to employers and individuals in order to increase the coverage rate.
