“It’s never too early to plan for your birthday party,” said Freeholder John Curley. “So, if you will be 100 years of age – or more – you should be part of Monmouth County’s Centenarian Celebration at noon on May 2 at Regency Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, 3325 Highway 35.”

Curley recently outlined plans for a birthday party for centenarians that the county’s Office on Aging is putting together with Regency Park Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Hazlet.  Initial party plans include a luncheon, music, gifts and a huge birthday cake.

If you know a centenarian who would like to attend this great celebration of life, please send their name, address, phone number, and a copy of their birth certificate to the Monmouth County Office on Aging at 21 Main and Court Center, Freehold, NJ 07728.  For more information, please call 732-431-7450.

“It is a wonderful opportunity for centenarians to gather with one another and share their pearls of wisdom,” Marie Barnes, Regency Park’s director of corporate marketing and public relations said. “Regency is proud to co-host this event with the Monmouth County Office on Aging.”

“We want to invite all Monmouth County centenarians who will be 100 years old or older this year to join this celebration,” Curley said.

As part of this year’s Older Americans Month in May the county will be using the theme “Unleash the Power of Age” as other activities are planned for May.

“Later in the month, Regency will attempt to set the Guinness Book of World Records for the “Largest Gathering of Centenarians” at our Somerset location, Regency Jewish Heritage Nursing and Rehabilitation Center,” said Barnes. “We hope that all of our Monmouth County centenarians can be part of this world record-setting event on May 19.”
