Did you ever want to play golf as a form of rehab?
‘First Swing’ is a program administered by the Orthotic Prosthetic Activities Fund and National Amputee Golf Association in part to celebrate and honor Ed Halperin. According to their website, the morning session is dedicated to teaching health care professionals such as physical, occupational, and recreational therapists how to utilize the golf swing as a rehabilitation tool and fun physical activity for their clients.
Instruction is given for use with multiple levels of disability not only for amputees, but those dependent on wheel chairs, the blind, and those afflicted by paralysis. After lunch they invite any and all to participate in the activity portion so the therapists may apply their new found skills.
