Protecting Seniors From Social Media Fraud
I read a great piece just published from AARP.
Fifty-plus and on Facebook? You’re in great company—64 percent of online adults ages 50 to 64 use Facebook, as do almost half of those 65 and older. But among social media fans and followers, there is fraud. “Phishing” scams—in which criminals try to collect your credit card numbers, log-in credentials and other information in order to steal your identity—have more than doubled in the past year, reports social media security company Proofpoint.

Regency Gardens Participates In the St. Joseph’s Foundation 2016 Golf Outing!
Regency Gardens Nursing and Post-Acute Rehabilitation, was proud to participate in yesterday’s St. Joseph’s Foundation Golf Outing to benefit the St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center in Paterson, NJ.
We were glad to spend time with two exceptional figures of the St. Joseph’s Leadership team, Mr. Kevin J. Slavin, President and Chief Executive Officer and Mr. John Dougherty, Special Events Manager and Coordinator.

Regency Nursing and Rehab Warmly Welcomes New RWJ Barnabas Health President!
It was an honor and a privilege for us to meet the new President of RWJ/Barnabas, Mr. Michael Antoniades at the recent RWJ Proton Therapy ribbon cutting event (I blogged all about it, right here) and then again yesterday at the RWJ Annual Golf outing where Regency sponsored the Golf Carts.
In fact, at the proton therapy event, I captured this photo of Mr. Antoniades during his speech:
At last nights golf event, Mr. Antoniades actually captured a selfie together with our Regency Corporate Administrator, Mr. Marty Bengio, which he later emailed him!

Marty described Mr. Antoniades as an “unpretentious, warm and energetic personality,” with an exceptional vision for the growth of this venerated Healthcare system.

NEW BRUNSWICK, N.J. – Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital has named Monroe resident Michael Antoniades, MPA, President and Chief Executive Officer, over both the New Brunswick and Somerset campuses.
Mr. Antoniades succeeds Mr. Stephen K. Jones, who served as President and Chief Executive Officer of the hospital since 2007, and who will soon assume the role of Chief Academic Officer for RWJ’s new parent organization – RWJRW/Barnabas Health.
“Mike is a proven leader who possesses the needed vision, drive and passion to take our academic medical center to the next level,” says Jack Morris, Chair of RWJ’s Board of Directors. “Since joining RWJ in January of 2011, Mike has built strong partnerships with our partners at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey and our private physicians in the community. We are confident that he will use these same skills as we begin a new chapter as New Jersey’s largest healthcare system, RWJ Barnabas Health.”
Mr. Antoniades joined RWJ in 2011 as Vice President, Operations and was later promoted to Senior Vice President of Operations in 2013. He was named Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer in 2014. Mr. Antoniades provided oversight for multiple clinical and support areas, as well as the strategic direction and development of the Bristol-Myers Squibb Children’s Hospital, cardiovascular services, women’s services, ambulatory services and the hospital’s transplant programs (cardiac and kidney/pancreas) within the hospital.
“It is a privilege for me to lead an exceptional team of health care professionals who constantly strive to raise the bar and provide residents of our state and region some of the finest academic medicine available anywhere in the United States,” Mr. Antoniades says. “Our team has a well-earned reputation for expanding the boundaries of medicine while delivering innovative, quality care to patients. Fashion Show and Brunch At Regency Heritage, Somerset, NJ
It was a real treat for the Chai Lights Hadassah to present the fabulous fashions by Rachel Boutique, 260 Towne Centre Drive, North Brunswick, NJ.
On Sunday, June 5th, Regency Jewish Heritage Post-Acute, Rehab and Nursing Center, 380 DeMott Lane, Somerset, was proud to host the annual Fashion Show and brunch featuring the lovely fashions, modeled by the Hadassah members, and a delicous hot and cold brunch. Approximately 100 community residents from the Somerset area enjoyed all the excitement and gathered together to make it a great day.

Regency Heritage Meets New St. Peter’s Hospital President, Leslie D. Hirsch
We were proud to recently spend time with the new President of St. Peter’s Hospital and Healthcare system.
Leslie D. Hirsch, FACHE, has been named president of the healthcare system, effective Aug. 24, following an extensive nationwide search. Hirsch comes to Saint Peter’s after serving as president and CEO of Saint Clare’s Health System in Denville for the past seven years.
“Les Hirsch and I share the same vision and values. We are privileged to have such a transformational leader join our team,” said CEO, Ronald Rak. “Saint Peter’s is a front-runner in New Jersey’s healthcare marketplace. We look forward to his aid in strengthening that position through his wealth of experience, creative ideas, and eagerness to aggressively advance organizational growth. Given his extensive experience in faith-based healthcare, Les is also mindful of the special role played by our Catholic hospitals.”
As president, Hirsch will report to Rak and be responsible for the daily management of Saint Peter’s Healthcare System, including but not limited to: organizational and clinical structures; inpatient and outpatient programs; strategic initiatives; financial performance; physician relations and practices, and healthcare facilities. The separate position of president was created in late 2014 by the Saint Peter’s Healthcare System Board of Governors at Rak’s request and the national search followed this year.
“I am very excited to be joining the team at Saint Peter’s,” Hirsch said. “It is my hope to build many relationships within and outside of the organization that help Saint Peter’s forge even stronger bonds with its key constituencies, especially employees, the physician community, fellow healthcare organizations, area and state governmental entities, and the communities we serve. I am honored to be joining such a highly respected and mission-driven organization.”
Hirsch has 16 years of experience as a healthcare CEO.
